First of all, I thought we should list those who have achieved this in the past. By identifying how they did it, we can learn what we must do to then achieve as they did.

Moses: Taken up into heaven in a chariot of fire. He talked with God face to face. He was made a god to Israel with Aaron as his prophet.

Alma the Younger: "buried by the hand of God, even as Moses." By this we are given to understand he ascended into heaven without experiencing death.

Three Nephites: These men will never taste of death.

John the Revelator: Again, will never taste of death.

Entire City of Enoch: The entire city became so righteous they were taken from the Earth. (A short time later, the flood happened.)

Cain: Once again, he will never experience death. Sadly, he broke the covenant by shedding innocent blood. Did he achieve Godhood before this time?

Who else can we identify?

Now, as to the Qualifications. Numbers 12 tells us:
Quote:
Numbers 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

A prophet sees God in visions and dreams. A God speaks with God face to face.

There are more qualifications. What have you found?
